Chris Sidwells Publishing
We've changed my website slightly in anticipation of a new project that will come together towards the end of next year. I'm going to launch Chris Sidwells Publishing, and it will sit between the magazine work I do and the books I write for other publishers.
Cycling has never been more popular, but I feel that there are stories to be told that don't fit into magazine articles and won't attract the attention of big publishers. I'm still doing more and more of both kinds of work, in fact I'm writing a book for Carlton Books now and have just signed to write another with HarperCollins during 2012.
Chris Sidwells Publishing will be for fans of bike racing. We'll be publishing books that help tell the story of the sport, from racer biographies to books about races and everything else in between. Essentially, these books are titles that people have said, 'you must write this, or why not do a book about that?' Also, in time I'm hoping to publish stuff from other writers too. They'll be available on-line, and from some retail outlets.
To this end we've included a 'shop' button on the site now, and as an opening offer I've got a few hardback copies of 'A Race for Madmen' plus some copies of Freddy Maertens' revealing biography, 'A Fall From Grace' for sale.
In the meantime, Cyclopsortive, published by A&C Black, is out and doing very well in the shops and through Amazon.co.uk.
